Just through the use of a variety of different natural materials a person can change the look of a room to something that more resembles the log cabins you see out in the woods.

If however you do not want to use wood cladding on the walls you can use a number of different paint effects that will achieve the same sort of results but at half the cost. Or you may want to purchase some wall paper that in fact have wooden patterns on them which look extremely realistic also.

When choosing colors for your room it is important you choose ones which are rich and warm as this will help to add that touch of warmth and openness that you are trying to achieve. However a lot of people will use plaids within their design and instead of making it to obvious they will use them as accessories like a plaid throw over the back of the sofa or a chair.

Another thing that you will need to include with any type of log cabins interior design for a room in your home is the type of lighting you will use. It is best if you go for something a little rustic such a metal lamp or metal wall sconces or even both. Also it is important that the switch plates also reflect the overall design of the room.

By keeping these things in mind when it comes to planning the interior design to give a room or rooms in your home that traditional log cabin feel you will soon be on the way to having the room of your dreams.
