How To Plan Your Bathroom Layout

When you are preparing a plan for a new bathroom design for your home because you want to remodel it, then there are a number of things that will need to be taken into consideration. It is important that you look at the room thoroughly and make notes of what it is you want to change within the room. In this article we look at some points you should be thinking about when you are planning your new bathroom.

1. Toilet Placement

If you can arrange to place your toilet in a position that is well away from the door to the bathroom because this makes it feel much more comfortable.

2. Room for the Door

You need to ensure that when you are installing a new door to your bathroom that it has ample space to actually be able to open fully. Unfortunately a lot of people will forget about the door until the remodeling has been completed and it is then when they find out that the door hits the sink so can not be opened all the way. If your bathroom is quite small then make sure that the door to the room opens outwards and this will then leave you with more space within the room itself.

3. Fixtures and Fittings

When coming up with any bathroom design ideas it is important to remember the fixtures and fittings within your design. The colors that you choose for both your tiles, toilet, shower and the bat will be ones that you will have to live with for next few years or decades. So go for those which will stand the test of time. Generally white and creams are very good for the bathroom and try and shy a way from colors where at all possible. Instead use color as accents through the use of accessories within your bathroom design.

4. Ventilation

When it comes to a bathroom design plan you must remember that most rooms are not well ventilated and so this means that the condensation made when you have a bath or shower will remain in the room. Unfortunately this results in the room becoming wet and moist and is the ideal environment for mold to grow in. So you should ensure that you include a way of being able to vent the room to the outside and the best way of doing this is through the use of an electric fan which can either be turned on or off by someone easily or will automatically come on as soon as someone enters the room or when the light is turned on.

If your bathroom design is carried out properly then this room can soon be come a relaxing haven away from the stresses and strains of modern life. By avoiding design mistakes in the beginning you will find that you do not need to spend so much time and money on having to correct these problems later on.
